■ TESLA TSLA 0.00%↑ ($178.01, -2.44%):
"We're not just starting a new chapter. We're starting a new book." - Elon
- IKYK, but Elon's pay package was reinstated and Tesla is officially incorporated in Texas! Few highlights are below from the Shareholder Meeting. You can watch the whole thing in the sources section.
- Per Texas Governor Greg Abbott (@GregAbbott_TX), "Tesla Shareholders approve corporation move to Texas. It was meant to be. Welcome to the Lone Star State." Elon replied, "Thank you, Governor Abbott!"
- Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson (@SecJaneNelson) signing Tesla's incorporation papers for Texas. Per Jane, "Proud to sign the papers officially bringing Tesla's incorporation to the Lone Star State! Certificates of conversion are filed in various instances such as converting from one type of business to another or converting from an out-of-state entity to a Texas entity. In the case of Tesla, their certificate of conversion is the document converting Tesla from a Delaware corporation to a Texas corporation."
- Per Robyn Denholm, Tesla Board Chair, "With regard to the 2018 Performance Award, we believe the ratification of the award and its decisive approval by our stockholders confirms our commitment to the deal we, our stockholders and Elon made in 2018. We intend to put it back in front of the court in Delaware to ensure that your voices as owners of our Company are heard."
- According to Elon, Foundation series Cybertruck production ends. This should place the Cybertruck starting price at $99,990, or $72,500 with the Federal Credit. Tesla's goal is to build 2,500 Cybertrucks per week by 2024 end. Pic from yesterday's Shareholder Meeting.
- During the meeting Elon said Tesla will allow free FSD transfers for one more quarter.
- Elon has predicted that Tesla will have over 1,000 Optimus robots on the factory floors next year. You called it, Scott (@@GoingBallistic5)!
- Per Elon, HW4 will now become Tesla's focus and it will be 10X better than HW3. HW5 will be will come out at the end of 2025 and it will be 10X better than HW4.
- Yesterday, the Model Y was crowned Auto Trader UK’s New Car of the Year for 2024. New Car Awards are different from other car awards as the winners are not decided by motoring journalists or ‘industry insiders’, but by the real-world opinions of more than 200,000 UK car owners
- Kimbal Musk and James Murdoch were re-elected to the company's board of directors for 3-year terms.
- The man arrested and accused of stealing Tesla’s trade secrets, Klaus Pflugbeil, has plead guilty to conspiring to send trade secrets that belonged to a “leading U.S.-based electric vehicle company.” Pflugbeil, along with his partner Yilong Shao, both of Ningbo, China, worked for Hibar Systems, a Canadian battery manufacturer that was bought out by Tesla in 2019. Shao is still at large. Pflugbeil is facing up to 10 years in prison.
PRICE CHANGE:
United States:
Model Y Leasing: RWD is now $449, up from $399. Long Range is now $479 up from $429. Performance is now $559 up from $509.
FLYOVERS:
Giga Texas: Joe Tegtmeyer (@JoeTegtmeyer), 12th of June, '24. Per Shareholder Meeting flyover by Joe. Remember to subscribe to Joe and support his work!
Tesla Diner: 247Tesla, 14th of June, '24. Time-lapse video of the different stages of the build.
Giga Berlin: Tobias Lindh, 13th of June, '24. Another beautiful flyover by Tobias. Production looks steady as the outbound lot is full with Model Ys. Solar canopy construction is moving along at a fast pace.
■ SPACEX:
- Yesterday SpaceX started to construct the 2nd Launch Tower at Starbase! The pace at Starbase is insane! I know Elon proposed catching the next Starship next month, but I would think SpaceX wants to complete, or nearly complete, the 2nd Tower before that happens. Anyone want to guess when the tower will be complete? Pic is by Carlos, the Starbase Surfer, (@cnunezimages). Subscribe to Carlos and support his awesome work!
- The Orbital Launch Complex at Starbase is already seeing the tank farm expansions start for, what I assume, the 2nd Tower. Foundation work was spotted during a flyover by John Cargile of WAI.
- The FAA announced they will not require a Mishap Investigation for Starship's IFT-4 launch. "The FAA assessed the operations of the SpaceX Starship Flight 4 mission. All flight events for both Starship and Super Heavy appear to have occurred within the scope of planned and authorized activities."
- Tuesday night Starship 26 left Massey's and now sits in the Rocket Garden. Static fire testing of the newly constructed Flame Trench must be complete. Pic by Fabian Ramirez (@texas_lizard). Follow and support Fabian!
- Another LOX barrel was rolled over to Mega Bay 1. This should be for Booster 15 that is being assembled inside.
- Starship 30 cladded in her new heat-shield tiles! Another great pic by Carlos!
- The U.S. Space Force’s Space Systems Command (SSC) has awarded National Security Space Launch (NSSL) Phase 3 Lane 1 contracts to SpaceX and others. The base Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) award includes Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Task Orders to each awardee to conduct an initial capabilities assessment and provide explanations of how they will approach tailored mission assurance. SpaceX will receive $1.5 million as an incumbent Phase 2 provider. This is less than Blue Origins award, but that is because SSC already understands SpaceX's launch systems and approaches to mission assurance. Blue Origin has never flown.

- In Bastrop, Texas, SpaceX is started expanding their Starlink site. The highlighted areas on the map above shows the areas currently undergoing groundwork. I was told the area next to the Starlink facility will be a separate and larger SpaceX facility. The highlighted area next to the Boring Bodega will be offices and Supercharges. Takes this for what you will, but I was told it was going to be for X. The pic below I took this past Wednesday, the 12th, of the expansion.
- The Department of Defense announced their plan to add 100 Starshield Starlink satellites to its future satcom architecture. These satellites would be owned and controlled by the U.S. government. Col. Eric Felt, director of space architecture at the office of the assistant secretary of the Air Force for space acquisition and integration, said the plan is to acquire a constellation of Starshield satellites by 2029, contingent upon receiving the necessary funding appropriations from Congress. The DOD currently uses the commercial side of Starlink.

- SpaceX has reduced the cost of its Starlink dish to $144 US in seven Canadian provinces: Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia.
